Itinerary:
-Days 1, 2 in Havana: After you touchdown at Havana airport, your Cuba Mania tour guide will offer you a warm Cuban greeting and take to your casa particular, your guide will run through the itinerary with you and the group. He will leave you with some local insider tips so you can explore your neighborhood.
You could spend a year in Havana and still not see everything, but we’re pretty confident we can tell you all about the iconic highlights and more! You’ll be free to head out and explore the city on your own in the afternoon with some helpful advice from your guide.
-Days 2, 3 in Vinales:
After a traditional Havana breakfast, we’ll hit the road to Viñales, a small town in the Pinar del Río Province of Cuba. It is famous for its picturesque landscapes, as the whole town is surrounded by a low mountain range. You will have the chance to visit local ‘finca’ (plantation) with explanation of tobacco growing. You will have the chance to see a demonstration of how to roll a cigar. We would recommend as an optional activity a day trip to Cayo Jutías, a mere 60km from Vinales, which should take no longer than 80 minutes. Expect white sand, crystal-clear water, a soft sea breeze and total relaxation.
-Days 4, 5 in Trinidad:
Today you’ll have the chance to explore Trinidad, a little slice of Spanish Colonial life trapped in time. In 1988 it was made an UNESCO world heritage site, and you’ll soon see why! Get lost in the winding streets and feel your stress melt away as the friendly locals brighten up your visit. At night you can enjoy great live music in outdoor venues.
-Days 6, 7 in Cienfuegos:
Today you will visit Cienfuegos, the city is dubbed La Perla del Sur (Pearl of the South). Cienfuegos literally translates to “one hundred fires”—cien meaning “one hundred”, fuegos meaning “fires”. In 2005, UNESCO inscribed the Urban Historic Centre of Cienfuegos on the World Heritage List, citing Cienfuegos as the best extant example of early 19th century Spanish Enlightenment implementation in urban planning. The downtown area contains six buildings from 1819–50, 327 buildings from 1851–1900, and 1188 buildings from the 20th century. There is no other place in the Caribbean which contains such a remarkable cluster of Neoclassical structures.
-Days 8, 9 in Varadero:
Breakfast will again be spent with your host family, and then you will leave Cienfuegos and head for Varadero = Paradise 🙂 .. one of the most Beautiful! beaches of the Caribbean. Recently awarded as the 3rd Best Beach of the World! Traveler’s Choice Awards ..
-Day 10 in Havana:
You’ll spend last night in Havana so you can enjoy the wonderful sunset at the Malecon, go for a new venue where you can have a nice Cuban meal, drinks (mojitos, daiquiries, etc.) and some music … get ready for your flight the next day ..
-Day 11 Departure day: To the Airport
Accommodation: Casa Particular Comfort
